Live At The Lyric is a semi-annual series of live entertainment events at the Lyric Theatre, including popular music concerts, guest speakers, children's theatre, puppet shows, and much more! These events are programmed in-house by The Lyric staff to provide the community with a diverse selection of arts entertainment.
Check this page often or sign up for our weekly newsletter to keep up with the latest events at The Lyric. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking one of the "buy tickets" buttons below, by phone, or in person at The Lyric box office!
All ticket purchases are final. Online ticket sales will end 4 hours before the scheduled start time for the event and remaining tickets will be sold at the door, which will open 1 hour before the event start time. Not all discounts will be available online; if the discount does not appear when selecting your seat(s), then the discount is not available online and you must call the office or visit the box office in person to get the discount. Office hours are Monday through Friday 10AM to 2PM. You can purchase Live At The Lyric tickets nightly after 6:30PM when our doors open to show our movies. Please check our Community Calendar for more accurate movie times.

Steep Canyon Rangers Thursday September 22, 2011, 8PM
This band’s deep dedication to bluegrass is heard in every note they play, but it’s their amazing songwriting talent that makes them truly exceptional. They draw elements from hard-core honky-tonk, classic country and blues. They score number one hits on the charts and perform with heavyweights such as Ronnie Bowman and Steve Martin. Though not scheduled to appear, Steve Martin has been known to drop in unexpectedly on shows with the SCR.

Storyteller and singer Charlotte Blake Alston, whose repertoire includes stories and songs from the African and African American experience, presents an evening of stories and music for children of all ages. A major presence on the folk scene for nearly two decades, Williams' style has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez - with a few acidic and humorous twists. Williams' most recent release, a career-spanning two-disc set, is titled Many Great Companions.

Away from the pond and on his own, the Ugly Duckling’s adventures lead him on a search for others who will love him for who he is. The famous story of the race between the Tortoise and the Hare is best known today for teaching the moral that "slow and steady wins the race." The electroluminescent wire (EL Wire) puppets and props are three dimensional and brought to life by 3 performers who are dressed in full black. Each glow in the dark story will feature classical and contemporary music ranging from jazz to pop. At this time, short narration will precede each story.

Grammy award-winning Texan singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith has built a worldwide reputation for her sensitive compositions since her debut album in 1978. Griffith's career has spanned a variety of musical genres, predominantly country, Folk, and what she terms "folkabilly." Griffith won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 1994 for her recording, Other Voices, Other Rooms.
